Earthweek is our yearly chance to show our planet a little care and appreciation and its popularty underscores the successes the environmental movement has had in helping our country understand the importance of preserving our precious resources. But we have a long way to go in attaining sustainability so your involvement in Earthweek is critical...and fun!

Central Park Zoo's Earth Week 2009
Teach your kids about important environment issues and increase the community's awareness all while having a blast at Central Park Zoo's Earth Week 2009 celebration. It takes place April 13-19 and the 22. There will be theater shows, crafts, and other activities that highlight important environmental issues the world faces today.

Earth Day Event at Creative Pier
Join Creative Pier in celebrating Earth Month by transforming everyday recyclables found in a household into eco-friendly artworks! Create a vase, a treasure chest, a puppet, or collage and let your imagination play a part in the magical process of creation and transformation.

Bring any of the following to the event: left-over tissue paper, newspapers, magazines, glass or plastic bottles or jars, egg cartons, or anything else you can imagine transforming.

Some of the recyclables will be available on site for you to use. Open to adults and children (ages 6 and up, under supervision of their caretaker).

Earth Month and Run for the Wild
As the warm weather begins to creep in here in New York, we are getting ready to celebrate Earth Month at the Bronx Zoo! Come party for the planet during our month-long celebration. Enjoy eco-friendly crafts, green-themed entertainment, storytelling, a recycled animal art exhibition, our first ever Earth Expo showcasing green products, services and more.

Help save the planet's wildlife and wild places during the WCS Run for the Wild on April 25th. A 5k run/walk through the zoo and free admission to the zoo following the run, the Run for the Wild is a great way to get outdoors during these spring months and support conservation!
